The binoculars are constructed with BAK-4 prisms for the highest density glass resulting in reduced light scattering and sharp, bright images. Higher-than-average eye relief (up to 23.6 mm) reduces eye strain and provides viewers with glasses a better view by allowing the eye to be further from the lens, while multi-coated lenses provide greater contrast and heightened visibility in lower-light situations. This model's increased size allows for an internal Porro prism system, which offsets the objective lens from the eyepiece for greater depth perception and a wider field of view (up to 64').
